Ocala is the Horse capital of the world. Officially named that in 2007. The city of Ocala is located in Marion County Florida. Marion County is larger than the state of Rhode Island. The top things to do in Ocala are the Ocala National Forest, Silver Spring State Park, Rainbow Springs State Park, The World Equestrian Center, The Appleton Museum, The Canyons Zip Line and Adventure Park and visiting the Ocala Historic Downtown Square especially during the holiday season.
Ocala and the county is broken up into four quadrants. Southeast, Southwest, Northeast and Northwest. The Northwest contains the equestrian center and The Canyons Zip Line and Adventure Park it is still very undeveloped. The Southwest is growing and contains many restaurants and shopping including the Paddock Mall. The Northeast contains Appleton Museum, Silver Springs State Park and the Ocala National Forest. The southeast contains a lot of medical office and industrial buildings.
