Silver Springs State Park is located in the North East Side of Marion County. There are many things to do in the park including a glass bottom boat tour, paddling, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, enjoying wildlife, camping, dining and more. The park is world famous serving visitors since 1870. They say that the glass bottom boat was invented there.
The park is on the Silver River with Mammoth Spring as the river's head spring. The are ancient Native American and Spanish artifacts and even underwater props from Hollywood productions that were conducted in the park. The boat tour is 30 minutes or 90 minutes. The pricing is $13 and $25 per adult respectively. There are discounts for seniors and children under 12. Children under 5 can ride free!
The park also offers full service catering allowing you to hold special events such as meetings, functions, picnics and even weddings inside the park. We've done kayaking inside the park and it was reasonably priced and a lot of fun. Single kayaks for two hours is $35. We saw a live gator napping. A little concerning but fun seeing the wildlife.
